Today was the American Lung Association's Fundraising event. 55 flights of stairs to the top of One Penn Plaza in Midtown. We had formed a team of 25 participants to compete. Last November we participated in the same event and climbed 40 flights. We won as fastest team and top fundraising team. This year we won as second fastest team (after the elite, that is!) and are proud to say that we rocked it. Monica G won as fastest woman and I was right behind her (boy was she in some shape and almost didn't want to do it!), Jen placed first in her age group, as did Deborah. Kamen won 5th place overall and better sign up as an elite participant from now on! You can check out the fun on Facebook.
We have already registered for the next challenge. On March 4th we will climb 66 flights to the Top of the Rock! I would like to encourage you to register right now and make a commitment to join us come March 4th, 2012. We will get training sessions organized in Manhattan and Brooklyn and you will be emailed instructions about how to do it on your own. See, it's not too late to continue on pursuing your New Year's resolutions.

Please join our team "Butt-Kickers" today! The registration fee is $50 and the fundraising goal is $250. It doesn't matter if you feel out of shape or haven't exercised in years. We're all about having a good time while working out and getting better with every climb.

Congrats on the stair climb!!!
ReplyDeleteOne question about the diet - how on earth is 2 strips of bacon a legal snack? Was it Canadian bacon? I don't get it.
