Sunday didn't feel like a real Sunday. I got up and felt amazingly awake, rested and good in my skin. I went out for breakfast to my organic supermarket farm stand spot.
I had my typical healthy and fat burning breakfast of a kale cake with scrambled eggs and a shot of ginger. It was a good start to my day after waking up early, watching the sunrise outside of my window and taking the pup for a walk in the woods.
It is so simple, yet it's what makes me happy. I love sitting at the breakfast bar because inevitably I always strike up a conversation with someone about the food or the local happenings (by the way. got a new app called Hipstamatic and it takes amazing pics with a 60's/70's look).
I spent the afternoon in Woodstock, looking around a few stores and art galleries and before I knew it, it was already time to head back to the city.
I asked my detoxers to share any positive happenings with me because the 4th or 5th day marks obvious improvements and I'm always curious to hear what people notice. I thought I'd share a few with you because seeing what 4 or 5 days ONLY can change is astonishing:
Is it really possible that I have lost 7 lbs? Hell, I would be really happy.
My teammate and I have been in constant contact, which has been quite nice. I love all the detox info you are sending us. It's interesting and quite helpful. I can't say that I am doing this exactly as I should be. If I were eating fish/chicken, etc. it would be much easier. I hope to try tofu this week.........my days have been very hectic and I haven't even had a chance to get to the supermarket. Have been stopping at the salad bar on the way home for salad, soup, veggies. I have lost 3 lbs which brings me to 120 lbs -- I haven't been this weight in 2 years!! I feel like I need to put more emphasis on upper body weight training -- hope to implement that this week as well.
Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs, 1 kale cake with carrots and cucumber, double shot of ginger
2 coffees with almond milk
Lunch: Chicken soup and 1 kale cake
Snack: Guacamole, salsa, oat crackers (not the ideal detox food)
Dinner: Protein shake with almond milk, pretzels (total cheat and not ideal)
Exercise: walk in the woods (can't really call that exercise)
Supplements: Fish Oil, multivitamin, metabolic advantage
Water: 3 liters of water and tea
Notes: I was more relaxed about food today. The crackers and pretzels aren't really supposed to be in my diet, but I was craving something crunchy and I decided to have it

You were right, I feel much better now. Got up early yesterday, took my dog to Central Park, ran errands, worked out for 1.5 hours with Susanne (did your program - can't move today) and then prepared meals for the week. Lots of energy all day and last night I had the best night's sleep I've had in years. Wow!
Went out for drinks with my friends on Friday and had soda water with lime. It wasn't even hard! I want to go out more with friends while my motivation is this high because it shows me how it really is possible to socialize without eating and drinking bad things. I can still have a great time.
So far this detox has been easier than I expected and the changes I've seen are above expectation. What a great way to start the year!
I really like the daily emails, very motivational and I'm learning a lot. Was wondering if you could share the kale cake recipe?
Hi Ariane, this weekend has been so good food wise!
I was home a lot yesterday and did not cave in once to all the junk around me.
Usually when I am home a good part of the day, it can get ugly! :)
I don’t know if my scale was right last night, but I weighed myself around 6pm (the time we weighed on tuesday!) and it said 187.
I'll check again tonight though before I get too happy. :)
Belly flatter, mind clearer, clothes looser, appetite GONE! What you like to (euphemistically) call “digestion” is much, much more regular. I need to work on snacks – I know it – I’m not sure why but this is hard for me
Omg, I have been feeling so great and yes, jeans feels a little looser due to less bloating and I am happy to feel more energetic but what the heck is going on with today's sugar craving? I was hoping after day 3 they would be less but today is the worst ever. I am trying to figure out why and all I can think of is that I have been doing homework and sitting in front of the computer all day.... otherwise I am feeling great and so glad to be going back to eating healthy and working out again.
