Plan Your 2012 Body Now

Hello Slim & Strong Readers,

the holidays are moving close faster than you want and holiday parties are happening everywhere. Yes, it's stressful. Yes, we are all stuck in holiday shopping craziness, and yes, we overeat the foods we don't eat at any other time of year. Well, that's the holidays and that's just the way it is.

Rather than trying to live up to a perfect diet over the holidays, plan your cheats ahead. While at other times of the year you'll be able to stick to two cheat meals a week, you will want to be a bit more relaxed during the holidays - within reason. Plan your cheats ahead just as you want to plan your workouts, so you can keep yourself in check. If you're heading to a holiday party tonight, then make sure you work out first thing tomorrow morning. The faster you work off excess carbs, the less likely the chance they'll be converted into body fat. Setting yourself up for unrealistic standards is not only pointless but it will also make you feel defeated and guilty once the holidays are over.

If you're like most of my clients, you look forward to the holidays being over and no longer being surrounded by temptations. So, enjoy them for now within reason and do your best to maintain your health and fitness by working out more and eating clean whenever you can.
